MARIO BALOTELLI is not bothered if Carlos Tevez leaves Manchester City.
The Italian claims the long-running saga over the skipper's future will have no effect on his role in the new campaign. He said: "It does not matter if Carlos is here or not.
"If Carlos is here it's good, while if he goes away I'm sure someone else will arrive.
"But how I play is all down to me.
"It doesn't matter who else is at Manchester City.
"Carlos is a great player, so I hope he's going to stay. But I've seen great players leave clubs before.
"It happened at Inter. This is football."
Balotelli, speaking in Los Angeles on the club's American tour, added: "We have a good team here.
"If a player wants to leave it's his decision but we'll still be a good team."
Bad boy Balotelli ended a turbulent first season at the Etihad Stadium with 10 goals.
But he has promised City fans they have yet to see the best of him and that there is a sackload more still to come.
The former Inter Milan star admitted: "I hope there will be a lot of goals to come from me this season.
"I thought my first season was so-so.
"I know I can score a lot more. I will show City fans this season what I can do."
Meanwhile City are fuming over the state of the pitch in Vancouver on which Yaya Toure suffered a worrying ankle injury during the side's 2-1 win yesterday.
The pudding-like surface at the DC Stadium passed an afternoon inspection but it soon became clear that it was not fit for purpose.
Midfielder James Milner admitted: "It was probably one of the worst pitches we have played on.
"I am not blaming anyone but it is not ideal in pre-season and probably increased the risk of injury.
"There were big chunks coming out of the pitch, so turning was difficult. You try to put it out of your mind. But when it is taking you five steps to turn round, subconsciously you are bound to think about it.
"Yaya has got injured and, if it is not too bad, maybe we were a bit lucky."
City were last night no closer to resolving Tevez's future, as they tried to sort out a deal worth around £40m with Brazilian outfit Corinthians.
