Officers get high in prison

PRISON officers say they are breathing in so much smoke from lags' spliffs they are getting HIGH.

Some have also complained of headaches and sickness caused by passive cannabis fumes.
Mark Freeman, of the Prison Officers' Association, said: "After a 12 to 15-hour shift, our members won't be driving home, they'll be flying home.
"The Government knows this is going on in prisons all over the country but they are doing nothing about it."
The POA says the problem is likely to get worse because cuts are expected to result in fewer cell searches.
The Health and Safety Executive has ordered jail bosses to carry out a risk assessment.
The Prison Service said: "We work hard to keep illicit drugs out of prison."
Lags are allowed to smoke cigarettes in cells because they are exempt from the national workplace ban.
